Stop walking on eggshells: a clear plan for the hitting, kicking and meltdowns
After 15 years and thousands of families, I've collated the strategies I come back to most into one handbook. Then we'll spend a Saturday morning together, live, going deeper into real-life scenarios so you can see exactly how these strategies play out at home. For parents of kids aged 6–9.
Sat 21 Nov · 9–11am AEST (Brisbane time)
Does this sound familiar?
- Your child is hitting, kicking, swearing or screaming, and it's starting to shape your whole family's day.
- You're exhausted and walking on eggshells, trying to meet every need so the next meltdown doesn't happen.
- You've tried staying calm, validating and talking it through, and it hasn't changed much.
- You're not sure whether to hold firm or back off, and you're worried about getting consequences wrong.
Aggression at this age is feedback that something in your child's environment or skill set needs attention. When you can see what's underneath it, you can change it.
What you get
The Aggression Handbook
The insights, tools and changes that have made the biggest difference for the families I work with, written so you can act on them straight away.
A Morning with Ashleigh
A 2-hour live call on Saturday 21 November, 9–11am AEST, where we'll dive deeper into individual scenarios and work through real-life challenges on the call, so you can see exactly what it looks like in practice.
The Parent Check-In
A one-page checklist to tick off each week, so you can see at a glance what's working and where to put your energy.
Inside the handbook
- The common drivers of aggression, from physical health to a too-full bucket, and how to spot which ones apply to your child.
- Heat of the moment vs heart of the matter: what to do mid-meltdown, and where the real change happens.
- Leadership: being the kind, firm parent your child can rest in.
- The anxiety beneath the aggression, and how to raise expectations without adding separation.
- Making space for tears, and the three types of tears that each need something different from you.
- Real alternatives to aggression, for when frustration is building and once a meltdown has started.
- Repair and consequences that keep your home safe without making your child more defensive.
About Ashleigh
I'm Ashleigh Warner, a Family Psychologist and mother of two boys. For the past 15 years I've worked alongside parents, in the therapy room and online, helping them get beneath the behaviour to what's really going on for their child.
Thousands of families have moved through my education programs and I've worked with hundreds one to one. This handbook is the strategies I use with them, gathered from seeing what works, and what doesn't, across so many unique families.
This is the kind of feedback I get from families in my programs
Your work is a core-shaker! Imagine how much easier our family life would have been if we'd had access to you 5 or 6 years ago! No-one can describe the benefits in two sentences btw!
Within just a few weeks we saw the biggest and most drastic change in him. I used the principles in your workshop about attachment to make sure we had a solid start and I can't even tell you the transformation!
Honestly I can't thank you enough. Words can't do justice to how soul-affirming and life changing your content has been for me and my family. I don't think I've ever felt so seen, understood and supported in Motherhood. Thank you for sharing with us all.
My daughter is sooo much happier! And we feel so SO so connected!
Honestly, your work has been transformational for me!
